I would really like to thank the very kind person who shot one of my cats yesterday with an air rifle. If this what this village is now coming to now shooting domestic pets then I am disgusted not only has this caused distress to my animal but also the cost as the pellet has shattered his leg and my need it amputated. If the person who has done this reads this then I had the are very happy with themselves perhaps next time they my like to try target practice on children as they must me very sick in the head.
What a disgusting thing to do! I hope you have reported this to the police. I know you are anonymous but can you say what road you live in or what part of the village? I hope this sick person is caught and that they are made to pay your vet bills. Hope the cat is OK.
Whereabouts in the village did this happen? We all need to know so as to be on the look-out for who did this and also to protect other animals and, as you say, children.
This is dreadful. I do hope your little cat recovers quickly .... and please don't be worried if the best treatment is to remove the leg, cats do incredibly well with only three legs.
If you can, please say which area of the village it happened so that we can all be looking out.
I hope someone reads these posts who knows who is recklessly shooting with an air rifle and does the right thing by reporting them to the police.
I live on station road near the school and will be reporting this to the police but I don't have much faith in them that anything will be done.
Report it to the police anyway and get an incident number for the record as you may not be the only person to be on the receiving end of this anti-social behaviour.
Thank fully my cat has not lost his leg but the vet has said that it was a firearm or an airgun at close range as I have seen the x rays and the rear femur was completely shattered. I would really like to know who did this as the vets bill is 1000 pounds and at the moment anger cannot describe how I feel.
For you to pay a thousand pound bill for someone else's cruel action is not on!! Somebody needs to take responsibility here. If it was a firearem then the police will have a record of where the owner lives. This needs to be nipped in the bud.
He has had 2 ops one to try and pin his leg but this has not worked and now has had to have the leg leg amputated. The cost so far is £1500. It was suggested we contact the rspca but they where not interested and the police did not have sufficient information to work on so this person has got away with this.
If the police have records of gun ownership can't they visit or write to those people in the area? For someone to get away with it only encourages them to do it again.
This person should be caught punished and made to pay the vet bills. It is also worrying because this spiteful person did this cruel act very close to the primary school. If he/she can do this at close range to a cat then where will this person draw the line? Don't let this person get away with it or he/she could do it again or worse.
So sorry what happened to you and your cat, I hope the cat has recovered. The police may not have done anything, which is annoying, but it is a recorded crime with a reference number, so in due course someone may be held responsible. Let's hope so.
I think what has happened here is truly sick and sickening.
The fact that the Police have done very little is a sad indictment of the absolutely chronic state of our Police Force who when challenged simply deny there is an issue quoting national stats, whilst seconds later implementing further cuts.
It is a sad fact that if you reduce the number of Police the crime rate will always goes down, and it does not mean matters are getting better.
Police statistics only look at "recorded" crime not at incidents of crime. That's why it's important for people to get a reference number for a crime committed or it gets forgotten about in the system. Thankfully there is a crime reference number for the cat shooting and it goes on record for the disgusting crime that it is.
