A man in a small black was parked in a lay by in guilers lane this morning and proceeded to slowly follow a woman walking her dog. He then drove past slowly throwing a note out of his window saying he found her very attractive etc. He drove off but returned after a few minutes to which the woman hid in a hedge then ran home. This will be reported to the police but in the meantime be very careful when out walking alone.
This is very worrying, although not the first time I've heard of it happening in SR and that was in Guilers Lane also. I doubt very much it is connected as the previous time (I'm aware of) was some years ago.
I have had a look at the link posted under the 'security' thread and see that under the personal protection section there is a (legal) paint spray as well as several alarms. Not bad things for us ladies to own for times when we do go out and about on our own. And carrying your mobile phone on walks is a good idea as well. A camera/video/audio function could also be used to record anything you are concerned about.
I made that post about UltraSecure (many other companies and products are available) in good faith and out of genuine concern for my own safety and that of the other ladies that walk their dogs, jog, cycle, walk etc alone around the village as well as the issues we all face with potential prowlers etc.
