Do something to help stop the speeding...

Firstly, volunteer some time with the Speedwatch Team...the more people willing to help, the less time the few people who are involved have to give up, the more sessions can be carried out...and the more likely it is something will actually be done!

Secondly, for roughly £10 vinyl stickers can be purchased (smartwheelie.co.uk) to stick on your wheelie bins. The gentleman I spoke to was more than happy to make up a pack with 3 x "30mph" and 3 x "Speed Kills" stickers. I'm aiming for 2 to be permanently displayed outside my house.

The more residents willing to do the same, the more effective it will be. Until then, I'll stand alone! The number of people speeding through this village makes me sick to my stomach. Just the thought of one of my children, or family pet dog, getting hurt (we do what we can to keep them safe) makes me determined to do what I can. I can only hope others are as bothered and/or motivated...

...I guess I'll see on bin collection day!

GREAT IDEA. YOU CAN ALSO GET SOME STICKERS ON EBAY FOR £9 FOR PACK OF SIX ( WILL DO 3 BINS ON BOTH SIDES SO IS £ 3 PER BIN ) THEY ARE 12" X 8"

Excellent. Hopefully we'll see some more being put on bins & being displayed around the village. If you want something done...

As Sally is the co-ordinator please let her know if you want to volunteer or on my e mail

We try to do a session a week , and results are reported to the Police. The more volunteers we have the less often you will be asked to help and we do the session for about an hour

The more we do and the more we catch , results in more Police precence who can and do issue tickets if not at the time, in the post with photographic evidence so if you are on the phone expect a ticket for that as well

You need to fill a CRB form and give some proof of location and if that goes through okay you get training on how to calibrate and operate the 'gun'

Our role is to educate, not Police but if you get caught more than once ........

The latest session in the Bunwell road on the 16th which I confess to not reporting as often as I would like, is 6 cars over the recording limit, so reported, and 12 in the recordable level which means we only have to give crude numbers. The worst offender was recorded at 43 MPH in a 30

Yes , we are all in a hurry, and some of you may feel really irritated by this but just how many children do you want dead or injured before the light bulb goes on. Sadly all to often it is drivers with their own children in the back seat , who seem to think the limit only applies to the street where they live and not the one in the next village i.e. Spooner row
