First of all we would like to express our thanks to all those who have expressed their concern/interest in the future of The Boars.
You are welcomed with open arms if you wish to pop in for a drink and a catch up. If you fancy walking the dog and trying a good pint or stretching your legs before watching Match of The Day with fellow enthusiasts we look forward to seeing you.
Miss the age of Vinyl? Why not try our Vinyl night on Mondays. Bring along your own favourite to share with other enthusiasts. Don't forget our lovely garden when the weather improves!
Obviously there are sensitive commercial and personal issues which preclude us from answering all the questions raised, however we thought it might be sensible to update you as much as possible with the current position.
The Boars is currently open for Drinks only (times specified below)
The Boars is for Sale as a going concern - it has not been listed as a development opportunity for residential or anything else
The community asset value listing is for the most part a red herring as planning permission would be required for conversion to residential use and the changes of use which CAV listing protects against would be most unlikely for The Boars. Any issues such as importance to the community would be considered as part of any change of use application regardless of CAV listing
We are currently negotiating the sale of the pub - any new owners would invest in developing The Boars and re-open it as a drinking and eating establishment
If negotiations are ultimately unsuccessful we have no current plans to close the pub and will continue to operate it as present until a buyer is found
