Historically the drainage ditch along the southern side of Queen Street, which flows from the southwest towards the stream at the Guilers Lane/Bunwell Road end, was an open ditch in front of the first three properties except for piped sections allowing driveway/footpath access to the properties. Some years ago sections of the open ditch in front of two properties were covered at bank height with wooden poles, soil and turf.
When heavy rain increases the water carried by the drainage ditch, additional silt in the water and from eroded soil banking within these covered (and now flooded) ditch sections is deposited and inhibits free water flow through the piped sections and onward into the remaining section of open ditch. This causes a backflow of water and egress from road drains at the boundary of nos. 5 and 7.
Previously this has been resolved by residents rodding/clearing the piped sections in front of properties nos. 3 and 5 to return the free flow of water.
The phone number for Norfolk highways is available on their website, they will come and deal with your evil neighbors at 3 and 5 (or they might just clear the drain, either way, win win!)
Maybe they have and the neighbour hasn't done anything?
Maybe I am the King of Spain.. if they had asked why would they not mention it in the post? I suggest the poster goes and actually ASKS the people who live there instead of posting what can be interpreted as a snide thread on an anonymous board.
I don't blame the poster voicing their concerns about the backflow of water and drainage problems caused by their neighbour. If the neighbour cleared their drainage pipes in the first place then no one would be complaining about it on here.

If they asked the neighbour to do it they wouldn't need to complain.
I can't believe Felipe VI of Spain lives in Spooner Row and I had no idea, although Madrid can be quite hot in summer, welcome to the village. Are you coming to the next Quiz 'n' chips?
Hello everyone, Just to put the record straight we have not been approached by anyone regarding the so called flooding. We are happy to meet any obligations regarding the cleaning of pipes, however a lot has been made out of what was a large puddle outside the drive for a couple of days after exceptionally heavy rainfall. We have had quite a lot of rain this week but there is no puddle (flood) now. We feel that it would have been more neighbourly and constructive if the original anonymous poster had spoken to us rather than make this post. Thank you to everyone who has shown support over this matter.
I totally agree with you and understand how you must feel after being anonymously attacked by a nameless person. The irony is they are probably nice as pie in person......
