Anyone noticed the train horns seem to have got louder lately ? I have no idea where they actually sound from as the track is straight, never noticed them before.
Yes, we had noticed too, especially in the early evening when the general traffic/background noise drops. How noticeable seems to depend on wind direction. Have assumed they sound the horn at the Sluts Hole Lane un-gated crossing. Suspect there has likely been a shake-up on crossings since the incident with the tractor (which was signal-man error rather than train driver or tractor driver).
