Massive increase in traffic in Spooner Row

I’ve noticed a severe increase in traffic over the last week or so, in particular coming in from the A11 but generally heading down Guilers Lane.  Not just peak times, but up until 2200 / 2300.
Other then general over development, anyone any ideas what’s causing it?

Quite possibly cars are doing a detour around the several traffic lights in Silfield at the moment and then going via Wattlefield to reach Ashwellthorpe or via Broom Road to Tacolneston.    Just a thought as Silfield is indeed a nightmare at the moment for people in this neck of the woods.

I have recently noticed that when the level crossing arms go down, the queue of vehicles up Station Road can now extend to go past the school and the car park entrance to beyond the chicanes. Is Station Road being used as a 'rat-run' or is this the norm now? Unbelievably it is a designated HGV route and does take an increasing amount of lorries, including those from Newalls. Station Road is a low-grade country road and not designed to cope with this level of traffic from the trunk road of the A11. This situation is becoming a serious hazard along this village road including outside the school, where new housing development is going on directly opposite, and at the tight junction with Bunwell Road.

I have noticed a massive increase in the number of morons parking on Guilers lane, which is a single track road because they cannot be bothered to walk to the pub. What would happen if an ambulance or fire engine needed to get to Wattlefield etc.. Driving up there is sometimes pretty challenging, as can be seen by the damage caused by people dodging parked cars

I am sure if it continues a word in the ear of the local fire officer / licensing officer at SNDC will be needed so they can have a chat with the landlord to sort out his parking issues or they will reduce the capacity of the restaurant for them.....

Regarding the parking on Guilers Lane, it was brought up in conversation in the Boars last week by a member of staff, also that the footpath is blocked lunchtime and evening along Bunwell Road by by people who don't seem to give a damn that they are breaking the law and causing pushchairs, electric scooters & pedestrians to the road. It has already been noted by the Police.
