The revamped hall looks very nice, but I noticed in the latest newsletter that the sign for the village hall is to replaced. What was wrong with the existing sign? It was made by a local old gentleman in the village and has been up for at least 30 years. This was also the original sign in the village that was fully restored. Where is the sign now? Are we going to end up with a modern sign that will not look as nice, have no heritage value and probably won't last 5 years.
The village hall has recently been given a makeover, during that time it was decided to replace the old sign. The old sign sadly has had its day. The woodwork is rotten in places, and we felt that further restoration was impracticable. The new sign will reflect the fact that the hall serves the villages of Spooner Row, Wattlefield and Suton.
