I know it is a necessary part of building houses, but I'm seriously reaching the end of my tolerance of building noises, workmen shouting to each other, various lorries and vans parked up and deliveries...plus regularly having our water cut off and power issues...I want some peace back!😂 From what the rumours are saying, is this the future for what sounds like a long time?! Will every field/ piece of land be a building site?! The Boars might see its profits rise...I'll be down there drowning my sorrows!🍷
I hear and share your feelings about the noise. I'm getting desperate for some peace and quiet, the almost constant bleeping of the reversing warning on the machinery feels as if its going to push me over the edge of sanity some days. Add in the planes, helicopters, lorries, rattling trailers, speeding boy/gal racers, the peace of Spooner Row and sounds of nature feel lost forever. At night it's little better thanks to being the designated rat run for all the HGV's. Last night I struggled to sleep and it was shocking the number and speed of some (the majority) of these trucks coming along the Bunwell Road in the wee small hours. There were a couple of squeaky heavy goods trains come through too, which I only ever notice on a still night with a window open, but the rhythm of a train on the tracks is more reassuring than jarring. When the rain started it was good to have some white noise to cancel the rest of it out. Finally nodded off sometime around 5:30am only to be woken up again by the inconsiderate early arrivers on the building site. Beginning to think it may be time to think about moving on. An isolated island somewhere has much appeal right now.
