Who, being of sound mind and body, parks their car car at a blind junction, especially in these awkward weather conditions?
I have just witnessed a VERY near miss opposite the Pub, where the owner of a small grey snow covered car has parked as near as possible to their front gate; thus blocking the last part of footpath / dropped kerb for wheel & pushchairs etc, also preventing drivers turning left seeing if anyone was crossing the road.
This is bad enough in normal driving conditions, but totally senseless at the moment, and I believe, contrary to the Highway Code. Surely common sense should prevail here, children play in snow, let them have their fun in as safe as possible way, not to be almost run over because a driver can't see a small child because her vision is obscured by a selfish driver.
Just a short way further I was given obscene gestures by the driver of a 'Chelsea Tractor' as I drove through the chicane, he wasn't able to understand the signage 'Give Way To Oncoming Traffic' ie large red arrow, small black arrow. How people pass driving tests without basic knowledge puzzles me. I think the other 2 car drivers following me were offended too by the obscenities.
Walking the dog as I do on a daily basis at least once a week there are brakes and horns as some pillock from the A11 decides they are going through the chicane despite the signs and simply do not care about other road users . They are usually doing at least 40.
If you can take their reg number so we can build up a database and if we get a regular, we can advise the Police. Better still if time and with dash cams and mobiles take a picture.
