From 1st April 2018, you will be charged with disposing of your DIY waste.  See NCC website for more information and fees. https://www.norfolk.gov.uk/rubbish-recycling-and-planning/rubbish-and-recycling/diy-waste

Prices per 80 litre sack or single item

  • Unsorted/non-recyclable DIY waste - £5
  • Flat glass - £5 (classed as non-recyclable at Mile Cross Recycling Centre)
  • Rubble - £3
  • Plasterboard - £9 (£15 at Mile Cross)
  • Timber - £3
  • Scrap metal - no charge

So, more cancer-causing bonfires and illegal dumping.

If the council have to make savings why have the councillors got a big pay rise?

I'm personally fed up with paying for fancy offices/time-wasting meetings, writers of policies that nobody cares about or has any inclination to read and, for example, leisure centre improvements miles from where we live (but conveniently close to the workers at South Norfolk Council) and at vast expense to the taxpayer and users. The council is there to pay for the things we care about, like maintaining road surfaces and helping us dispose of our rubbish. Things have to change.
