I think we need to concentrate on NORMAL as quite clearly not normal with two bank holidays

I also reported this to South Norfolk and not altogether happy with the response.
I saw the refuse lorry start its trip into the village up by Top Common late morning and everything seemed normal. It was not until way past the normal collection time did I notice the bins uncollected and so I picked up the telephone. The waste team member at Ketteringham told me that no abnormal reports had come in and that I was the first to raise a concern. When I mentioned the closed road signage and could the collection be down to this, the team member replied that he was not away of the road closure. You may remember that SNDC missed our bins last year when the road was closed further down into Suton. He then sent on to say that the bins should be left out and that they would be collected within 5 workings days. When I mentioned the extended bank holidays this weekend and how would this impact on our scenario, he became flustered and simply repeated the bins collected in 5 days statement.
What did come out of this conversation was that SNDC has changed the protocol for dealing with bin issues, in that they will not now tell you the reason behind the concern. The team member told me 3 times that he would investigate but when I asked for a call back he refused.
