Dog Bins & Waste Bins - Your Thoughts Please

Consultations with residents under the Community Governance Review brought forth a number of comments regarding litter and dog waste.

Can I please have residents comments towards the provision of new bins, where they should be located and why.

No need to hide in the dark on this one, so please give your name when replying.  It just makes it easier to follow up comments from real residents should the need arise.

Based on the amount of poop left unscooped on the verges along Top Common between Queen Street and Station Road I would hope a bin mid-way along here would get used.

Robert,

As you know a considerable number of residents use Hill Road to walk their dogs up, either for short walks or part of a longer loop linking Potter’s and Guiler’s Lanes.  Maybe positioning one on Bunwell Road near the junction of Hill Road and the Southern end of Queen’s Street might be a good location.

Please could the bin on the level crossing be moved to the other side of the car park (Foliard's side) as the current position is very unpleasant for anyone going onto / coming off the platform, as you have to stand right next to it to open the gate. Not a very good welcome to Spooner Row when getting off the train.

Seen the new bin by the Queen St / Top Comon junction today.  Well done community council.

The roll out of additional dog bins continues and following on from the new bin for Top Common, the Community Council has installed new bin at the bottom of Station Road this afternoon.

This location was added to the list after I was made aware that black poo bags were being placed in the nearby litter bin, close to where children from the village wait for the High School bus in the morning.

Suton will soon see a second dog bin placed at the bottom of Suton Street, towards its junction with Sawyers Lane.  I am just waiting on Highways to straighten a post!

The Community Council will soon discuss the provision of waste/litter bins in our community, so if you have any thoughts please let us know.

Robert
