The bird scarer has been going off too often today. Does the landowner have any consideration for local residents? Can someone from the Community Council have a word with him?

the bird scarer code of practice is available on the NFU website

If they operate as per the guidance you will not be able to successfully complain.

complaints that the code of practice have not been met should be directed to SNDC

I've looked at the NFU code of practice leaflet which seems vague but it does say that scarers should not be fired more than 4 times in any hour. I've noted the shots for a couple of hours today starting from 12.35pm and this is the result of what I heard which far exceeds the NFU code of practice for any given hour ,

times to the nearest 5 minutes:

12.35pm 2 shots

12.45pm 1 shot

12.55pm 1 shot

1.15pm 2 shots

1.25pm 2 shots

1.35pm 2 shots

1.45pm 2 shots

1.55pm 2 shots

2.05pm 2 shots

2.15pm 2 shots

2.25pm 1 shot

2.30pm 2 shots

The shots are about every ten minutes. I suggest others also make notes if they are annoyed by the noise.
