Anglian Water will be closing Station Road on Saturday 7th November to provide a water supply to the new houses beside Cantley Villas.
The alternate route is Top Common /Queen’s St.
I mention this closure because the last time it happened (closure due to water supply to The Ridings, Station Road) I was forced to jump up onto the verge with the dog on Top Common by a speeding black BMW using the diversionary route.
Please be aware that Top Common and Queen’s Street will see a higher than normal amount of traffic on that day.
I think it is a good idea to publish it to save traffic turning at the cones when they ignore the diversion signs at the end of the road. I just hope that the lorries are redirected away from Spooner Row so that they don't ride over the weak Top Common bridge. Can't the lorries be redirected permanently away from Spooner Row, I'm sick of them.
