Thank you for reporting this. The Council were made aware yesterday and the Police have been informed as it looks like a stone, which is inside the noticeboard, has been thrown or catapulted at it. We will get it repaired ASAP. If anyone has any information on how it was damaged please let the Council know.

I see there is one in Spooner Row. Which is lovely however, my first thoughts were I hope it doesn’t get damaged. It is very close to the road and we know large vehicles such as lorries and farming vehicles pass through multiple times a day.
It is no more at risk from farm vehicles and lorries than the average pedestrian walking along Station Road. Thinking about it, lorries often mount the pavement so pedestrians are probably at more of a risk.
The notice board looks great! I don’t think there is any argument that it could be damaged by vehicles- the post box has been there for many years! Also, I played table tennis yesterday and checked out the football goals. These are great additions to the village. I hope people use and respect the equipment. My suggestion for the next project would be for some sort of railings/fence along station road where pedestrians walk and cars/lorries travel at excessive speeds.
No, not recently. The post box post has been at that funny angle for years, its just that you can see it now that the hedge has been cut back to the fence.
