I have been asked by the community council to call for volunteers for a Speedwatch team to monitor the speeds of cars through the village and as a consequence report any transgressors.
This requires a minimum of 6 volunteers as 3 persons are required at each site which will at or very near to the existing SAM location sites.
Training is required and it is not about enforcement it is education and if a transgressor is noted that are reported to the Police , they will write to the individual concerned. Multiple letters may result in a knock on the door and if a pattern is noted the Police can obviously turn up and do their own monitoring which can result in fines and points.

Monitoring usually takes place about once a week but it is not set in stone and lasts about an hour
