Pathway between level crossing and school lane .

Today I had to help a young mum ,who had tripped on the uneven pathway surface , whilst holding her young daughter. The mum had sprained her ankle and her daughter banged her head. They were about halfway between the level crossing and school lane . This pathway has become rutted by traffic using the pathway as a passing place . I walk my grandson to school each day and the pathway is in a poor state , especially on frosty mornings .Someone from highways need to inspect this ASAP . Another incident last week was a chap was hit on the shoulder by a white vans wing mirror . The van mounted the pathway to avoid oncoming traffic  and hit him in the process. The van did not stop. If this had been a child it would have hit them on the head causing nasty injury.

Andy, you make some very valid points. I think most of us have experienced vans and lorries mounting the pathway to pass and avoid on-coming traffic along Station Road. Something should be done for pedestrian safety sooner rather than later.

i Understood that this dangerous pathway was going to be repaired within 5 weeks but it is 10 weeks ago since I reported this . Is the path going to be repaired during the work that’s being carried out on Station Road
