Just seeing if there is anyone out there who is interested in joining Toadwatch, helping to save toads (and frogs and newts) in the local area. You just need to have a few hours spare during the next couple of months to help local wildlife.
Each year many toads and frogs are killed crossing roads on their way to their breeding ponds, so Toadwatch organises volunteers to patrol the known crossing points around dusk during the next few weeks to move the toads etc safely to their destinations. The Wymondham group covers a few sites around the north side of Wymondham, and one at Wicklewood, and last year they moved around 1250 amphibians to safety.
There are meetings to welcome and train new volunteers on Monday 23rd January 7.00pm in the White Hart Wymondham and Tuesday 24th 7.00pm at the Kings Head Hethersett. The email address for the Wymondham group is wymondham@toadwatch.org. There's also a group at Ashwellthorpe - ashwellthorpe@toadwatch.org. You can find out more information at: https://toadwatch.org/
