Was on the playing field today, and my dog did her business so cleared it up and put in the bin. The Bin was overflowing, as I was still on the field,a man drove into the car park and then put dog poo in a bag in the dog bin.

what on earth? I thought these bins were for residents to use as they walked around with their dogs?

I also see a woman come out of her drive to walk her dog,and she already has the dogs poo with her to take to the dog bin.

Use your own bin! I don’t pay council tax for every person to fill up our bins!
shame on you!!

next time I will challenge you, beware!

I don't understand this posting! Isn't that what the poo bins are for? Better to put the dog poo in the appropriate bins rather than having your own rubbish bin smelling for up to a fortnight! A better sighting of people leaving the poo on the side of the road, as is the case on Station Road, School Lane, Top Common, Queens Street, Bunwell Road, Hill Road and Sluts Hole Lane. In fact there is a large pile of dog poo on the concrete path to the Nursery school, only 10 feet from the actual poo bin. Things like this are more important than spying on people using the proper recepticles.

If everyone binned their dog poo in the village dog bins then they would need to be emptied by a contractor every week or more. This would be very expensive and we the local council taxpayers would be paying for it. I think everyone should dispose of their own dog poo in their own bins and reduce the overflow of the public ones. This is partly the reason why dog poo is left discarded close to full bins. It's disgusting the way poo is left on the ground by irresponsible dog owners.

If you wrap up your dog poo well before placing it in your own bin then it wouldn't smell for a fortnight.

The dog bins are emptied once a week by South Norfolk Council, at a cost to the community of circa £100.00 per bin per annum; so an annual bill to Spooner Row Community Council of £700.00.

Stephen,Thankyou.Exactly my point.

The council are not responsible for YOUR dogs mess! They were installed only for the benefit of people NOT having to walk all the way round the village, holding dog poo .As being a responsible owner you would then place it in your own bin when you get home.

This infuriates me that you feel it’s ok to place all your dogs excrement in these bins ! So your bin does not smell!

Ok so it’s not illegal, but this is a cost to OUR council.
If everyone in the village placed their dogs foul in the bins we would need a lot more bins!
A certain  (.....edited....)
I’ll reiterate, USE YOUR OWN BIN!

So whilst this isn't ideal, is it really such a huge issue (ie. does the bin overflow) and worth getting this upset over if one person, for whatever reason, puts their poo bags in the village bin?

When I walk round there is more excrement left not picked up round the village than I'm sure this person adds to the bin.

Maybe rather than ranting about it here (which may not be read by the person involved anyway) why don't you try engaging the individual concerned in conversation about it?
