Have heard that a car park may be built next to the nearly named, and since neglected, Suton Wood.
What land has been allocated for this?
Will it be locked at nightfall or will it left open for god knows what to go on.
There are enough unknown people loitering around here and enough cars and mopeds using our street (and endangering our children and residents) as a drag strip. We don't need to give anyone more of a reason to come here with nefarious activities on their minds.
Is it possible for the council to use some of the community funds to purchase a piece of land for a wood in Spooner Row? We have nothing nearby in walking distance for this type of healthy leisure pursuit. It would also provide a positive long-term legacy for the village.
We are still rich in wildlife, so perhaps some conservation schemes could be created. I am sure most people would be behind this before we are inundated with lots more houses.
I have to agree that in Spooner Row we have only the school field to walk dogs on. There are more and more people and houses - we are going to need additional recreational areas for a growing village and population.I understand there are proposals to lose an area of the already small field to the school. if this happens then the space available is even less. Maybe it is possible to secure an area for people to be able to exercise or walk their dogs. there doesn’t seem to be good footpath access to the countryside either.
