Could someone let me know of the council’s plans to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Normandy Landings, 6th June.

I had heard that the village beacon was being lit.

The following information has been provided by SRCC's Clerk:

Spooner Row Community Council will be lighting the beacon on the Playing Field on Thursday 6th of June to commemorate the D-Day Landings.

The Council will join with others around the country by lighting it at 21:15.

It will be the lighting of the beacon and no other event is planned.

 

Everyone welcome to this simple act of remembrance.
