National Highways information forwarded by SRCC's Clerk:

Dear Customer

Important roadworks information

A11 Attleborough Bypass, B1077 Norwich Road – resurfacing work

I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out resurfacing work to the B1077 Norwich Road Overbridge which runs over the A11 Attleborough Bypass. Once complete, drivers should benefit from a safer and better-defined road surface.

We plan to complete this work over two nights starting on Tuesday 20 October 2026. We will work between 8pm and 6am, weather permitting.

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A11 B1077 Norwich Road Overbridge in both directions and divert traffic as follows:

A11 northbound entry slip diversion (traffic from Attleborough) (Map 1)

  • Take the B1077 Norwich Road into Attleborough.
  • Turn right onto Connaught Road.
  • At the end of the road turn right onto Exchange Street.
  • Turn left onto B1077 Queens Road.
  • Follow B1077 Queens Road to the A11 junction.
  • Rejoin the A11 Attleborough Bypass northbound, resuming your journey.

Diversion for Morley St Peter (Map 2)

  • Join the A11 Attleborough Bypass northbound.
  • Leave at the Spooner Row junction.
  • At the roundabout take the second exit onto B1172 London Road.
  • Turn right onto Station Road.
  • Approach the A11 Spooner Row junction entrance slips.
  • Rejoin the A11 southbound and continue to Besthorpe junction exit slip, resuming your journey.

Please note that there will be no emergency vehicle access through the road during the work.
