Can any Spooner Row residents hear the loud banging at certain times of the day? Sounds like a gun shot in the distance. Is it a bird scarer?

Hi Norfolk Lady. I think you may be hearing a bird scarer,especially if it is a single sound at regular intervals. People also shoot at this time of the year, so it could be that. I hear it frequently, but it's always difficult to pinpoint exactly where it is coming from. People also shoot rabbits in the dead of night. We have to assume that it is a friendly country sound and try not to worry about it.

yes norfolk lady, in the last month n a bit, the shooting has been for pheasants,with the lead up to xmas, the birds are shot early then hung up for extra yucky flavour!! then in general it will be rabbit shooting clubs doing the banging noises and of course the culling of our lovely muntjac deer.

Norfolk Lady, it sounds to me to be a bird scarer, think it might be in the fields opposite School Lane/Station Road.
