Could this be the crossing in Slutshole Lane? Wherever it is, it is likely to be an old photo, as most of the lanes are tarmac now.

" book? For such a small village we get a lot of national attention in one way or another! Personally, I just want a quiet life!

I Wouldnt go as far to say that spooner row was the Hive of national activity just yet so i wouldnt worry too much.

I live in Slutshole lane and the name originates from nothing rude at all. It comes from the Dutch word sluis which refers to draining of the fens!
A water channel still runs the length of the lane on the Besthorpe side of the railway line.
Both street signs have been stolen over years, but the silver street end has now been replaced.
