It was bought to my attention by a Spooner Row resident that the glass recycling bin in the school carpark Station Road, Spooner Row needs to be emptied more frequently.
I raised the issue at the Wymondhmam Town Council last night - Tuesday 6th September 2011. It was stated that South Norfolk Council acknowledges that there is a temporary glitch in the collecting of glass items and that they will be resuming normal collections as soon as possible.
Cllr Turner commented that calling the telephone number on the bins, to report the need for a bin collection, did not result in a helpful connection.
The bottle bank is emptied by a company called Waste Recycling Group (WRG). They told South Norfolk Council (in August) that they were experiencing staff turnover problems that caused delay in emptying bottle banks, but they hoped to resolve them soon.
You can tell WRG that a bank is full by phoning 01842 753129 (weekdays, office hours)
If a bank is so full that you can't put any more in, please note that WRG can only collect the bank-full itself, they are not {allowed, insured, whatever...} to collect any boxes or bags full of bottles outside the bin, however carefully or lovingly the person may have put them there.
