Wymondham Area Action Plan Consultation 28 Jan - 22 Mar 2013

South Norfolk District Council will be providing a public consultation for the next stage on the Wymondham Area Action Plan (WAAP).  Development options for Spooner Row are no longer considered as part of the WAAP, but I assume Spooner Row residents can still participate in the options put forward for the rest of the parish. The details provided are as follows, Webstation:

Public Consultation - the next stage of the Wymondham Area Action Plan (WAAP) is taking place between Monday 28 January and Friday 22 March 2013.  This is the second round of public consultation on the WAAP and identifies the Council’s preferred sites for housing and employment as well as other proposed policies relating to the environment, recreation, retail and transportation.

All the consultation documentation and related background studies are available to view on website at www.south-norfolk.gov.uk/wymondham.  The consultation questionnaire can be completed online (the preferred method of making responses) but a CD containing all the documents or a paper copy is available on request. Online questionnaire: http://s-norfolk.jdi-consult.net/ldf/readdoc.php?docid=160

Exhibitions at the following venues where staff from South Norfolk Council will be available to answer questions:

Fairland Church Centre, Fairland Green:  Tuesday 12th February 3pm – 7pm

Tiffey Room, Central Hall, Back Lane:  Saturday 23rd February 10am – 4pm.

No idea how Spooner Row's voice is going to be heard!  A short time back, two of our parish councillors requested a special public meeting to be provided by SNC, to help find out about Spooner Row's development situation and why SNC separated us from the parish.  Nobody (including our parish representatives) seemed to know what was happening and why, but a public information meeting was not considered necessary or important enough for SNC to provide one.  See previous thread: "Important controversial local issues" initiated by Cllr John Turner.

Does anyone know where we are meant to get our voice/views heard on spooner row then. The plans for bunwell road and chapel lane seem not to be on the planning agenda at south norfolk for this month despite the applications showing that a decision would be made at that meeting. Trying to wrong foot the locals I imagine.

Don't forget the public consultation on Saturday at Central Hall. Spooner Row is still part of Wymondham as there has been no parish boundary change as yet. SNC would not give us a public consultation as requested, to explain why Spooner Row's housing development is to evolve separately and additionally to Wymondham - perhaps they can explain here. The excuse that Spooner Row has been upgraded to a NPA Service Village does not explain why the housing growth is not included within the parish's action plan. Who's going to produce Spooner Row's NPA Service Village action plan (at a parish level to represent our views) if we are not considered part of Wymondham for this purpose? Are we, or are we not, part of Wymondham?

An interesting (and hopefully helpful) session at Central Hall discussing the new housing proposals.  I say interesting because one of the SNDC officers said "Spooner Row would be much better off with its own Parish Council".

Hmmm! Anyway, if anyone wants one of the data CDs of the documents, (because they are easier to search than the SNDC Website), I have a few spares, so drop me an email to jhturner108@btinternet.com and I'll get one to you.
