The following is an email received from Morley Village. Webstation:
There is a move to improve the broadband service in Morley through a scheme called Wispire - I believe it is a booster that will be fitted to Morley St Botolph church spire. I suspect there is a cost attached to a much improved broadband speed but it will almost certainly be worth paying for and our church gets some much need revenue to help with maintaining the medieval building.
We need to get as much support as possible for this to happen so I am asking that you click on the link below, enter your post code and that should bring up Morley St Botolph Church where you can register your interest.
I have just given WiSpire a call as I was looking into this anyway. The problem they have with Spooner Row is that the Chapel is just not tall enough to install WiSpire. The church in Besthorpe is suitable, but as there is a lot more interest from the residents of Morley they are looking to use their church to cover the immediate area. They see that as a good solution for reaching SR and as I understand it the signal and download speeds are not affected by the antenna not being in the village.
They are just waiting for permission from the church to do an inspection and theoretically it could be active from about three months after they get the go ahead.
It's worth having a look at the website as speeds of up to 8mbs are achievable which knocks into touch my 0.9 from BT. Cost looks pretty reasonable as well at £25 per month for their top unlimited package.
