Does anyone know what's happening to our paths and walkways around our village? It looks like the farmer is taking them back for more field again. Are these not protected? We now cannot walk round the field opposite the school and its too dangerous to walk along the road as there are no paths.
I believe these paths may be concessionary paths and the funding to the farmer has expired. It is a great shame as it gets people and dogs off the road. Perhaps the farmer could be contacted and asked to kindly reinstate the paths that allow people to walk safely off the roads ?
Does this mean that we are no longer allowed to use the designated footpaths or can we still walk on the perimeter of the field albeit over mud and/crops?
I think you would need to contact the farmer concerned. Hopefully, he will realise how important it is to walk off the busy road and will reinstate a smaller path for you and other walkers.
Hi After looking on the noticeboard which is at entrance of said field it says that the pathway is Defra Sponcered Conservation Pathway and that the Sponcership finished in Sept 2012 , so the village has had an extra year to enjoy. Maybe farmer will leave a small pathway around edge but I am not sure if he is abliged to do so.
