Dear All

NOT Kings Head meadow ! but a proposal for a Play area near to the Rec centre in Ketts Park.

It has long been recognised that since the development at Harts Farm that there is an absence of a Play area this side of the old A11 and given the very extensive use of the Ketts Park area, by budding David Beckhams and Andy Murrays whose siblings are left to their own devices, that such an area would be welcome.

To that end the Council have asked 4 companies to provide some designs for the area at a fixed price. Unfortunately only 3 companies decided to bid giving 2 options each, so 6 choices

The Council will very shortly be making these designs available for public consultation, ( we hope electronically ) so any residents of the Wymondham Parish , which obviously includes Suton, Spooner Row and Wattlefield can choose their preferred option. I say perhaps electronically, as these plans can be difficult to view/read on a computer, so a visit to the Town Council offices where the full sets will be on display, may be necessary.

Before anyone immediately says 'why wasn't more money given to the Play area at Spooner Row', I hear you, but that is not what this is about , and whilst I fully appreciate that some of you may think this is too far away to bother , there may be some of you whose children , and siblings who already go to the Park to enjoy the activities there, who would want to comment.

You will have to give some details, so that only respondents are entitled to do so, may comment.

This is simply a heads up but the Council as a whole are genuinely keen to see as much engagement as possible please, as it is your money which is being spent here.

Following the Leisure & Environment meeting on Tuesday we have now received 6 proposals for the above. In conjunction with a letter from the Town Mayor (Cllr Foulger) these can now be found on the Town Council website under Latest News.

Many thanks

Trevor Gurney
Town Clerk
Wymondham Town Council
