Did anyone see who is responsible for the large fridge (or freezer) that has been dumped at the top of Station Road recently? This needs to be reported if so, as it is well documented that one item soon leads to a 'rash' of items being deposited. Why are people so lazy? It doesn't cost THAT much to have the Council collect, and if 3 people get together for a collection, well, that's simple maths.
Whoever dumped it must have had transport to get it there in the first place...... why not finish the job and take it to the tip!
You are right, dumping this will encourage other unscrupulous idiots to dump their rubbish here too The responsibility is with the landowner to remove it. Fly dumping is disgusting but the local council-operated tip is closed for half the week.
It looked to me (as I went past in the car) like a commercial type fridge. I wonder if the tip wont take them for free? I also wonder if it has any identification marks on it ( like an asset id, or PAT test label)

Hopefully South Norfolk make those checks when they collect fly-tipped electrical equipment. It is simply so sad that anyone feels the need to dispose of their waste this way and sadder still that no-one with an onboard cctv in their vehicle caught the flytippers in the act.
It is a hassle arranging for disposal, especially if you have to (wo)manhandle heavy rubbish in/out of a vehicle or at the disposal centres BUT companies supplying new equipment will also collect the old (usually for a charge) so we have to accept that in a throw-away society where electrical goods are, frankly, cheap and we upgrade before things wear-out or breakdown, this is a small price to pay.
Last week when I was driving back from Norwich I followed a vehicle where there was a steady stream of food wrappers out the window. Oh how I wish I had a windscreen cam!
I found the comment that 'Ketteringham is a bit of a trek from here', a 'cop out', Surely, if you have the vehicle to transport such a cumbersome item, you have the ability to get a couple of miles further. (I'm sure it wasn't left by someone using a bicycle)
