There is a 'new' huge hole appeared in the middle of Station Road, opposite the entrance to the new building site. We were travelling at no faster than 20 mph this evening when we hit it, didn't see it as we trying to avoid children in the road and badly parked cars.
It is a serious accident waiting to happen! A motorcyclist would have been badly hurt or worse....... as it is, it's 'only' our car that is damaged & us shaken up.
I had a meeting with some people from Highways Dept 14 months ago regarding the road surface in Station Rd , the conclusion from them was that the road surface was never man enough for the volume of traffic and certainly not for HGV's. I asked about the potholes and collapsed drain's and they said they would send a team out to fill them in the following week. It never happened as usual !!!
Re the nasty hole, No I haven't reported it yet as we're only just back from a medical appt. Can you do it please Mr Halls, I'm a bit 'worn down' at the moment. Thankyou.
It is not just the pothole causing a problem, the builders leave grit, small stones and mud on the road on the School Lane junction opposite. They only sweep clean Station Road and leave the rest.
I am pleased to report that this awfully deep hole has now been filled. Unfortunately it is now quite a high bump, so, be warned ! I hope the number of trucks going over it will squash it down somewhat.
