A group of Spooner Row residents including myself are in training for the Norwich half marathon on April 9th. We meet up at The Boars each Sunday at 10am for a gentle run of about four miles currently, which we are going to slowly increase in distance. I would like to invite any other Spooner Row runners to join us. We are a mixed ability group and run at a gentle pace, if we get a larger group together though we could split into two groups based on speed. As the weather is so horrible at the moment, we'll dive into the snug at The Boars for a coffee afterwards, as our runs get longer and the weather gets nicer, I'm sure this will change to a G+T or a beer! Please just turn up at the pub next Sunday, or feel free to get in touch through this forum.
Our group size grew from three to five this week which was great, hope to see any of you who would like to join us next week on Sunday at 10 am, meeting at The Boars.
If you don't fancy joining us to run but are feeling charitable, we are running the Norwich half marathon to raise money for Star Throwers as the Wymondham branch has supported a friend of ours.
We are meeting at 09:30 this Sunday for a 10 mile run should anyone wish to join us. We are now a group of about 5 and go from strength to strength! The Norwich half on April 9th will be a breeze at this rate!
Have a lovely weekend and enjoy this nice Spring weather,
So our training is done and we are now ready to take on the Norwich half marathon, next Sunday, April 9th. As a group we have trained hard and got up to almost full distance in preparation. Thank you to everyone who has waved or tooted their horn as you have seen us jogging round (red faced) each Sunday.
With our training out of the way we are now concentrating on fundraising. Our chosen charity is Star Throwers, an amazing charity outright, but in particular for supporting a local friend of ours. If you would like to support our fundraising, then please do so through the link below:
We will continue to run each Sunday from The Boars and look forward to seeing who else will join us, its been a really great way to meet some of Spooner Row's finest residents, keep fit and enjoy some lovely Spring weather.
just to let you know that we continue to meet at the pub at 10 on a Sunday for a run if anyone fancies joining us. It's gorgeous now the weather is better.
