Over the coming days a small (but growing) group of residents will be standing on door steps here in the village, wanting to hear your thoughts on the Community Governance Review.
We have an opportunity to come together and regain our voice as a community. To create a legally recognised status that will bring about change and help direct the future of our village.
We want to hear from those wanting to stay as part of Wymondham Town Council and from those wanting change. Change can come about with the proposal to create a Community Council covering Spooner Row, Wattlefield & Suton.
We need more people to get involved and help us cover the villages. We need neighbours to speak with each other and spread the word. So if you would like to be involved please make contact here or call Robert on 07748 300820 or Julian on 01953 600720.
Our community faces a number of challenges now and these will potentially become greater in the years to come. Please help us bring about change.

I agree we need change and an independent parish is the best way forward. We moved to Spooner Row because of its rural location, but all we seem to be getting is more houses and no say. Individuals speaking out alone are ignored so an independent parish will be vital for us to have a voice.
I wonder, can they still stop our wishes to be independent, even if there is significant support?
Yes. Please also complete our paper proposal/survey which will be delivered to your doors by local residents who will be calling at houses wanting to hear your thoughts on creating our own village parish. This link will be included on your paper proposal, I have just put it on here to make it easier to access. To help complete this council prepared on-line survey, we have included an instruction sheet which will be given to you when we call round with the paper proposal - some may find it helpful.
Here's a tip to answer Question 10 on the on-line survey, which asks you to upload a map; just mention "DT1" instead of a map - the council will know where this is.
See Robert Foster's first posting on this thread, who is doing an excellent job with Julian Halls in organising this village survey. If you want Spooner Row, Suton and Wattlefield to become its own community parish to govern ourselves locally, then now is the time to do something about it under the Community Governance Review - we only have until 12th July 2017.
The next meeting to evaluate and review progress on the level of support for a new Community council will take place on wednesday 14th June in the committee room at the village hall at 1900.
So far lots of positive responses but I suspect South Norfolk will be as happy as a .......(edited)........, so we have to plan the next few steps very carefully
If you can make it, that would be good and no matter if you have not been involved up to now and this is NOT a recruiting drive although any help you can offer will be appreciated
