Yesterday afternoon we drove down Bunwell road towards the housing development and saw that the works there had blocked the ditch/drainage pipe with the obvious result of flooding. I took photos of the mess & the workmen came to the fencing to see what I was doing. When I explained that it would 'back up' and cause flooding to the properties further up he was in no way interested! He said that a new ditch was planned, he did not say when....
This morning (20th Sept) the flooding the water has risen to the edge of the road, no.one from the site was in any way interested.
I hope the company in charge of this fiasco have good insurance because it seems they may need it very soon.
They are not interested because it doesn't affect them. Isn't there already a flood problem there? You would have thought that in the circumstances the newly planned ditch would have been in place first before the existing one was blocked off.
