I have not been formally notified of this closure but today closure for flooding works on the section of Suton lane where it meets Suton street and is always flooding has today taken place and will be in place for 4 weeks
I will try and track down contact details of contractor for any issues
I have to eat Humble pie! I was informed but in my defence the closure was headed up Market town road closure so I have to fess up as missing it but i hope you can understand why.
Contact is NCC and available on their roadworks closures section of their website and the reson given is installation of some better drains on that corner which has flooded for years and going very deep so for safety reasons the road has been closed, if you are tempted to try and sneak past.
Given the accident the other night in Chapel road where a car ended up in the ditch and the driver in hospital for an as yet unexpalned reason , trying to bypass roadworks for the sake of 3 minutes I would suggest is rather a potentially futile exercise but from many road closures in the past, I know drivers just ignore them. To do so is illegal and may I suggest completely compromises any insurance that you might attempt to claim later as a consequence of damage incurred.
Sorry if this is coming across as puritanical but the closure is there for a reason.
