Another fine example of NCC Policy coming to fruition
Changes to Stagecoach services
Stagecoach have announced they will be withdrawing from a number of bus routes in Norfolk, their last day of operation being 28 April 2018 in most cases.
Norfolk County Council has been working with alternative local transport providers to ensure there are replacement services that are sustainable for the future, and the good news is that local operators have agreed to cover the services on a predominantly commercial basis. Some services and timetables may differ from what currently exists and some areas may see a reduction in the level of service, however services will continue to be reviewed and developed, taking into account things like passenger numbers, customer feedback and key connections.
In addition we are working with operators on areas such as through ticketing and connecting services so that journeys can be made as seamless as possible.
Passengers are advised to check new timetables with individual operators – details should be on their websites by the end of March. Contact and website details below.
Some services also provide journeys for students attending schools, sixth forms and colleges. By the beginning of April Norfolk County Council’s transport team will be writing to everyone who has a pass issued by the County Council to confirm any new travel arrangements. And anyone who has a pass issued by Stagecoach will need to contact them directly regarding any possible reimbursement.
Changes to services which are going to be retained by Stagecoach, as well as those that will be replaced and by whom, subject to final acceptance by the bus regulatory body can be downloaded here.
