You are correct just because you live in catchment doesn't mean you receive a place if you apply for you're child to attend. Wymondham College is always over subscribed and places are then allocated by working through the admissions policy / waiting list, places are given to those who fall into certain categories first.. however it is not a lottery.
For instance priority would be- 1. looked after children, 2. children whose siblings already attend, 3. students who have musical skills and then 4.proximity to the college....
So Spooner Row, Morley, wicklewood etc will be popular places to live if people want their children to attend.
I think you could be the fool, as the original comment is valid. in addition, new people moving to the village can have difficulty sending one or more of their children to spooner row primary. its often full and they have to look elsewhere.
Not sure if it's scaremongering or not but people should be aware of the circumstances and facts that may affect them. School places cannot be guaranteed.
I was merely pointing out As family’s move into the village it’s not a given to go to wym college! Wym high is as good as the college.I know many family’s who moved to spooner row purely to get them in to the college.
The more development the harder this will be.common sense not scare mongery!
I wont bother airing my views anymore when All you get is people being RUDE!
Ask any parent in spooner row school why they have put their children in the school?
Thanks to the person who stuck up for me! Glad we are not all fools who live in spooner row!
