Thickthorn roundabout is a nightmare at commuting times to and from Norwich. The longs queues at this bottleneck are ridiculous. Is there information available about these A11 improvements before the meeting? Thanks.
The letter from county did give some links but unhelpfully advised one would change soon but you can access them via county if you want to see details of DRAFT proposal which is what this consultation is about. Decision much later
They probably would take online comments as well if you cannot make the meeting. No summary of the proposals I am afraid and likley to change anyway as I suspect funding will be the next very thorny issue
This looks very much like an acknowledgment of the Thickthorn A11 problem but because there is no money to remedy it, the council has produced a draft solution, followed by a public meeting, which is likely to be followed by the claim that they have done all they can do in the circumstances - which is nothing or very little. Not good enough. The councillors need to spend less time having meetings where they discuss and vote themselves an 11% pay rise and instead spend more time on achieving things that matter to everyone else. The time wasted on traffic queuing at Thickthorn roundabout just to get to work each day in Norwich will get progressively worse with the increase in south Norfolk's population. Why doesn't the council plan ahead and put the infrastructure in place before they build thousands of new houses?
