Following a clean up of the area by councillors ! in their own time and in keeping with Government guidance the small play area and the swings will be unlocked tomorrow afternoon ( Friday)  so we do not get into a midnight opening situation and complaints on account of it not being open.

They is however a problem with the climbing board access (following another close inspection by one for the councillors)  to the small slide which has warped and so will be hazard taped off from use until we can get a replacement. A 'do not use sign' will be affixed to it

Rather cynically or perhaps cleverly, it has been so designed that without specialist tools it cannot be removed. If anyone has a 5 sided Allen key set and a specialist anti tamper allen key please let us know.

The warped board represents a low finger trap risk but I would ask that whoever uses this site or the parents of those who use it respect the hazard tapes precence and warning sign and not remove them please

Thank you Julian and others for the play area clean up.

It is so important that people do not remove hazard tapes and warning signs on the warped equipment, the warnings are there for the benefit of everyone.

Hi Daz

Thanks for the offer. Robert Foster contacted the original equipment manufacturer Wickstead and they have posted the correct bits out to us Which should arrive this week.

By way of an update, we have now received the correct hexagonal tool from Wickstead, the play equipment manufacture, so the climbing board has been removed. We are now awaiting for a second small hexagonal tool to arrive so that we can remove the climbing holds, remount them on the reverse of the board and then replace the board back in reverse hopefully removing the finger trap hazard from the the bowed board.
