Why have we got working lorry's and cars and workmen outside Village Hall after 23pm until early hours in the morning dated Sunday July 26th 2020? What is happening? They are drilling and every thing and yes making lot's and lot's of noise. The time now is exactly 00:44am in the morning.
Thank you
Kind Regards
Adam Keeling

Yes it was last night. They were doing some thing outside the Village Hall with the lorry's and van's and workmen and then they started drilling and using very very loud power tools all through the whole night until early this morning. It kept us awake the whole entire night. They started parking up outside the Village Hall I think just after 22pm. I have no idea what they were doing last night. Why were we not sent a letter telling us who ever it was would be working all through the whole night last night Sunday July 26th 2020?
Could the work be something to do with the under-road drainage system installed a few years ago opposite the village hall? when the road was closed off for weeks
As you say, whoever it was should have sent letters to let residents know. This is very inconsiderate.

Well, upon walking the dog this morning it looks as if Network Rail has been busy at the crossing.
The crossing now has new asphalt work and highway markers either side of the approach, along with build up work between the lines. It appears that they have fixed the two loose crossing slabs and decided to "soften" the approach to the crossing. Great if it reduces the tyre noise when crossing the lines for nearby residents but not great if it means drivers see a smother ride as an OK to increase their speed over the crossing. Time will only tell.
