new election divisions for county

just days after the last election the totally independent ( ha ha) boundary commission have just published their final recommendations as to how the county will be divided up in 2025 election.

No appeals but awaiting formal rubber stamp in law

Spooner row , having been in Forehoe is now in the new division of HINGHAM with a massive increase in area and elector numbers even though the whole exercise is about having the same numbers across the board. ( apparently ) A truly stupid criteria and anyway in our case complete tosh . Numbers now 6879 rising to 8873.

The new area will stretch from Hingham in the west , Wreningham in the east, the lizard and  Kimberley in the north, with Morley and spooner row in the south.

It has  been suggested by some that this is to ensure that each new patch has a hefty precense of one particular party supporter by dint of history in the electoral base. I could not possibly comment on this but why we are so far out in number parity is not explained and just glossed over

For Wymondham it is even worse to the point of madness. North east wymondham will be in the new Yare valley, Wymondham town and north west in  'Wymondham' and Wymondham south will be in Hingham

When you have a clearly defined urban conglomeration why on earth do you  split it up ??

Are you against the proposals for political reasons. Surely each area will have a more equal numbers under the proposed proposals.

Exactly my point ! these areas are being divided up on a number basis BUT being done so, so that a big chunk of one party can continue to dominate. The  fact that we have a clear community , say as in Wymondham and then ignore that fact for political expediency is wrong.

Norwich is mostly Labour because it is a tight urban connurbation  so 'let's make sure that does not happen elsewhere shall we'  such as Wymondham town and let's divide it into 3.

The fact that you have the same number of electorate over 10 square miles as opposed say 100 square miles  makes no sense whatsoever unless you have a hidden agenda in play
