It has come to my attention that a member of the S.Row Community Council has published misinformation about this Message Board on one of its websites. As a reminder, everyone including the Community Council is very welcome to post on this site either using their name or anonymously (if they are a resident).  In addition, very few posts are deleted or edited and contributors are rarely banned. However, I must remind the Councillor concerned that if a post he supports is unnecessarily below par, then, as the Disclaimer to this website states, "Administrators reserve the right to delete any message for any reason whatsoever."  I hope that clarifies things.

Thanking everyone for their contributions to this message board and we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

As we come to the end of the year I feel it is only right and probably overdue to thank the unpaid webmaster for the job she does in the face of unwarranted and unjustifiable criticism for exercising the right to remove offensive and inaccurate posts.. A job she has done for many years.

ANON posts give the poster the right to express a view without fear of recrimination, but it has boundaries and other forms of social media openly attacking the message board for daring to edit a view which can rightly be viewed as offensive inaccurate propaganda, is a job well done.

The councillor concerned claims that he cannot remember who contacted him or their phone number...........But nevertheless felt it appropriate  to post a message on Next door , where he is the admin, critisicing the message board . Do you think that is vaguely credible ?? I do not and anyone who sees the councillor in his trips around the village spreading his 'gospel' might cause to think that the information being imparted might not be accurate and might be biased to support his own agenda.

I proposed siting the picnic benches in the corner of the field in my original proposal months ago but now it emerges that that that is where someone wants to build a pavilion. Needless to say that reason was not the one given at the time for their provision or their ultimate location.

So we are clear here, the post made on Next door was NOT sanctioned by the Council , as far as I am aware ( as Vice Chair) even though it clearly said WE , implying that we all know and condoned this post . I certainly was not aware, and do not condone its content in any shape or form and think the moderator of this forum needs an apology. Putting on an infammatory post on the say-so of an individaul you conveniently cannot remember is utter nonsence

I will not be holding my breath on the apology.

I do not do 'next door' because of alleged data mining issues and will not do so. There is no compulsion for councillors to engage despite what you might have been told, in other posts .  I think we have an excellent forum  in the message board and believe its independence of the council is a strength. Others disagree but I would strongly suggest to you that that is about content control.

A little bit of power does strange things to some.

Mr Halls made some valid points. Searching online I found out there is a code of conduct for parish councils that 'none may act alone'. This means you cannot make yourself out to be representing your village parish council.

I do live in Spooner Row and regularly read this message board.

I have to say, the above messages are the best i have ever read on this site. Factually correct. No beating about the bush and Honest.

I just cant work out why everyone seems to be attacking each other all the time, Its like Children in a playground. I am gobsmacked at the amount of back stabbing and attacks on individuals that are generally only trying to help in this village.

Some people are very misinformed and keep having a go at the wrong person. If we all pulled together and stopped trying to make out some are better than others with there massively complicated messages and words i cant even understand, then we would be a powerful force indeed.

Long live Spooner Row Message Board and JH
