This has now been cancelled I hope because after some reminders they realised this would compromise the railway hut move

Good afternoon all,

Further to my colleague’s email dated 27th January 2022 please note the above works have been cancelled.

New dates for the works will be listed in due course if applicable.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Sophie

Dear Daniel

It would appear that the cancellation has it self been cancelled and works are proceedings ( see picture below)

In consequence the move of the railway hut looks like it has been completely compromised and I would imagine Mid norfolk Railway will be less than happy and I know not your fault but if money has already changed hands regarding Police escorts etc there may be repercussions

It is very regrettable that this will probably mean the hut stays where it is on the field for no one knows how long.

We have had no further updates regarding this from Sophie and our clerk cannot get hold of anyone to find out what is going on

Julian

a footpath to nowhere Station road

having endured weeks of work at top common and along srtation road with massive diversions , we are treated to a footpath which goes nowhere which hardly anyone will use. It will last 5 minutes, as lorries drive up the dirt edge and onto the path and destroy the surface in order to pass each other.

Why not provide a small section of path to the playing field or better still a path from the new estate itself onto the field, through the hedge and then a path  on the field to connect to the existing path outside the school ?

Why should the owners of the playing feild provide a public footpath to the new developement? It is the resposibliity of the developer and the planning office to ensure that a footpath is built to a good standard. I dont want to lose any more of the playing field. It is ridiculous that lorries need to drive up on the verges and existing footpaths to pass each other. Stop them passing through this village.

I know many people will be glad to have the road open again but I will be sad to see the end of a blissfully quiet time when I could actually hear the birds and feel that this is how village life should be. It will be interesting to see how all the lorries will deal with passing each other as the verges look very soft and the very nice trod path looks a little vulnerable. Can we keep the diversion signs for the lorries please!!

Station Road reopened a day earlier than scheduled; late yesterday afternoon (Thursday) with a new footpath from The Bungalow to the School:

Sorry to say this but the path looks awful , is not level or straight and will break up very easily and why on earth do we need this?
