Since about 6pm tonight Saturday February 19th 2022 we have been hearing extremely very very loud music and it is still going on and it is now nearly half past 8pm. We can't pinpoint where it is coming from. So I wondered if any one could highlight where it is coming from and can any one else hear it? The whole of Spooner Row Village can hear it as it is that loud. It sounds like drum and bass music and rave music. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Still the extremely very very loud music goes on and it's now nearly 10pm
Still the extremely very very loud music goes on and it's now nearly 10pm Saturday February 19th 2022. Never heard any thing like this before in Spooner Row and we have lived here nearly 20 years. It is definitely drum and bass and rave music. I'm not sure but I think it is coming from the Spooner Row Village Hall. It truly is way way way to loud. We all can't hardly hear our Sky Satellite TV and we are watching a music programme on ITV HD called Starstruck

Nearly 11pm and why is no one complaining about the extremely very very loud music coming from the village hall?
Nearly 11pm and why is no one complaining about the extremely very very loud music coming from the village hall? The music has been constant and non stop since 6pm tonight Saturday February 19th 2022 and now it is nearly 11pm. The music seems to be getting louder and louder as the night goes on. All we are now getting is cars revving up and popping at the village hall and rouring up our main road fast. What is Spooner Row Village Hall thinking about tonight. Yes we are very very unhappy Spooner Row Residents tonight. The music truly is giving us a headache. We truly can not hear ourselves think. It is constant drum and bass and rave music. Please sort this out. We can't sort it as we are disabled and have bad health and other issues. Thank you

23:06 pm and the music has now finally ended in the village hall. Saturday February 19th 2022
On behalf of the trustees I apologise for the disturbance last night. We took a late booking which was not what was agreed. When we realised what was happening we approached the hirers, the music was stopped and they tidied and left by 12am. They admitted that this is something they frequently do and usually ends up in the police being called to remove them.
I would like to thank those who handled the situation calmly and avoided any escalation and further disturbance.
This is not the kind of thing we wish for at the village hall and lessons have been learnt to avoid this happening again.
As a district councillor can you let me know , if necsssary via a phone call 01953600720 and I will post on facebook and other media sites to warn others who is responsible . Names and details would be good.
Unfortunately there is no late night call out response team from/at District council and I am not at all happy about that but in order to get this changed I need details and evidence please
I have just noticed this thread and I am astonished at the reply from the district councillor. The Village Hall Committee dealt with the matter and apologised to the resident for causing distress. In steps the district councillor to demand details (no please or thank you in his post) of the hirers so that he can post their personal details on Facebook and other social media sites. Are you kidding? What next stringing the young miscreants up on a tree? I do hope the Village Hall Committee are up to date with their GDPR training!
It affected several residents not just one and is in breach of the Environmental protection Act with specific reference to noise nuisance. It was heard by residents in Chapel lane so must have been loud.
If you had a child who was trying to get to sleep, or an animal and was disturbed and could not because of the noise you would be extremely unhappy.
Persons who commit acts in breach of the Criminal Law are rightly named and shamed and all I was doing was trying to act to prevent a similar situation arising in other parishes.
Now to some that might appear draconian and me being a killjoy, but to act in such an irresponsible and anti social way would not be the subject of legislation in everyday society if it was not regarded as a serious matter.
Whether you like it or not the Law exists and in my professional life as an Environmental Health Officer I attended many similar events and was involved in prosecutions and equipment seizure. This is something which I will not in any sense apologise for, nor need I . How many Policemen apologise for giving you a parking or a speeding ticket?
The booking as I understand was made very late in the day and quite deliberately so and the 'rave' that resulted could have been much worse in terms of damage and the premises were left in such a state that others had to clean up after them, before the Hall could be used the next day.
So Evie, perhaps you could attempt to justify your position and as you well know, it is absolutely nothing to do with GPDR and could even be deemed as an attempt to pervert the course of justice. Magistrates and judges take a very dim view of this.

The GDPR does not prevent the sharing of this information in this instance. For many very long and very very boring reasons which I won't go into here. One could even argue that Julian has a duty of care to actually share the information with other similar organisations to prevent it happening again, because surely if the committee had been in possession of the information, we wouldn't be having this exciting conversation.
