I have written to Mr Dyer to suggest to him a 47 mile detour is utterly assinine which will simply be ignored by all but the largest of vehicles and then probably not

Upcoming work 1 February 2023

Advanced notification of the overnight closure of the A11 Spooner Row

southbound entry slip road

I’m writing to let you know that we’ll be closing the A11 Spooner Row southbound

entry slip road on the evening of Wednesday 8 February 2023 from 8pm until 6am.

This is so we can undertake routine maintenance of CCTV cameras at the southern

end of the scheme.

To ensure the safety of our workers and help keep disruption to a minimum, we’ll be

doing this work overnight when there is typically less traffic on the road. We’re sorry

for any disturbance caused by our activity and for any delays encountered as a result

of this work.

Customers wishing to join the A11 southbound at Spooner Row will be diverted north

on the B1172 towards the Thickthorn junction, before travelling eastbound on the A47

ahead of joining the A140 towards Ipswich. Traffic will then be invited to travel

westbound on the A1066 before re-joining the A11 southbound at Thetford. A fully

signed diversion route will be in place, and we’ve included a copy of the route map at

the end of this letter. You can also visit our website to view an interactive version of

the map: www.nationalhighways.co.uk/A11concrete.

Please note that the date and times of this work may be subject to change due to

weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances. Where possible, we’ll keep you

updated of significant changes on our website. Please check our project webpage for

the latest information before you travel.

We look forward to updating you on our progress in the near future. If you require

Yours sincerely

Andy Dyer
