It was good to see that the SRCC drop through the door.
It is about time there was some communication. Most of us don’t have a clue what goes on.
However there really was next to nothing in it. The SAM is finally working again , we still are at risk of flooding , there’s some work going on in a bit of woodland and dog mess in the villages is still a problem. Is this really all that has been achieved since the election?
Could we have an update on finances and spending.
Where the money goes and any plans? Any news on the big housing developments proposed for the village? Thank you .
Give them a break! I like the newsletter. As it says on the front page they have limited powers and the things you question relate to other councils eg District.
I hope the Community Council makes this a regular thing.
'Challenges within our own council" I'll say. The vast majority of decent councillors left or were bullied out soon after the election. There have been empty seats on the council for months.
I don't blame the council for trying to put on a positive face, though. They're going to need more than a simple letter to 'move forward' I think. A large proportion of the community don't believe that they represent them or their interests.
Rather than moaning anonymously on a public message board, why don't you go along to one of the meetings and find out first hand what the council is about, and as the news letter says, make a suggestion for a project? or volunteer to be a councillor?
