I thought Sue's reply was mesaured and sensible to this letter; a large amount of it seemingly based on hearsay and just plain negativity.

It's pretty despicable that some people are constantly attacking the Village Hall Committee - who just offer their time and effort voluntarily for the community.
They got the kitchen for the community to use and put the vast majority of money for it from their own coffers. They didn't do this for personal gain.
And it certainly isn't a 'luxury' - Heavens above! What a stupid thing to insinuate!

All Village Halls have a kitchen.
Those who didn't want our hall to have a kitchen should have spoken up at the time.

Yes, there are no members of the Village Hall committee now present on the council.
Yes, as the community member states most of the original democratically elected members of the council have resigned and most of the current members have been co-opted on.
Read the numerous resignation letters by these individuals and you'd begin to know why.
