Letter received from South Norfolk Council re Consultation on Main Modifications to the Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan.

The emerging Local Plan is near adoption. The modifications to Spooner Row include: Land west of Bunwell Road (Ref VC SPO1REVA) amended from 35 dwellings to 45. No Settlement Limit is defined for Suton.

Dear consultee

South Norfolk Council is inviting comments on the proposed Main Modifications to the South Norfolk Village Clusters Housing Allocations Plan (VCHAP).

The plan was submitted for independent examination in August 2025, with public hearing sessions held in January 2026. Following the examination, the appointed Planning Inspector, Mr Reed, has proposed a number of Main Modifications which he considers necessary to make the plan sound. The consultation provides an opportunity for residents, businesses and stakeholders to comment on these proposed changes before the Inspector issues his final report.

Consultation period

  • Opens: 9am, 14 September 2026
  • Closes: 5pm, 26 October 2026

The consultation includes:

  • The proposed Main Modifications
  • Updated Sustainability Appraisal
  • Updated Habitats Regulations Assessment
  • Policy Map changes

Please note that comments should relate only to the proposed Main Modifications and associated consultation documents. The consultation is not an opportunity to revisit matters relating to other parts of the submitted plan that have already been considered during the examination.
